We have finally entered the Harm Reduction space partnering with a wonderful organisation, Ulwazi Fefe.

Nyaope addiction and its devastating consequences have always been a dear cause for us, this partnership allowing us to work with more than 600 clients. These boys (and girls) are more than addicts they also happen to be South Africa’s biggest recyclers and in the process helping to keep our neighbourhoods rubbish free. These recyclers do the work we all want done and which we need done, however they still find themselves societies pariahs. We plan to change all of that.

We are turning these waste-pickers of Alexandra and its surrounding areas, into a legitimate work force. At the same time we are working to educate local communities to help them understand the work they do and to respect them for their contribution. We will also be teaching the community of members of Alexandra the value of “going green” themselves. Naturally we are going to first help them kick their habit.
